Miguel Migs - Those Things
Submitted by Renee Hines 17/05/2009
Those Things is the eagerly anticipated second album from California house don and pioneer of soulful electronic music, Miguel Migs.
His 2002 debut album, Colourful You received massive acclaim and sparked interest worldwide.
A professional songwriter at eighteen and member of a reggae band, Migs cites a variety of genres, including reggae, soul, classic rock, jazz and hip hop, as being largely influential on his soulful infusion of live instruments with electronic music. The result? Funky, deep and bumping house.
Those Things calls upon a plethora of talented vocalists to take the listener on a unique listening experience; seamlessly blending the boundaries of dance music with old school funk.
With the label Hed Kandi behind his latest offering, Migs doesn’t disappoint in delivering his usual trademark standard - superbly written songs, quality beats mixed with soulful vocals, and production of the highest calibre.
For an afternoon of light listening or background music for your summer soiree, Those Things could be the perfect accompaniment!
